GMCA SAP conversion tool
A tool to assess design stage energy performance
This tool is for use in planning applications for residential buildings in the Greater Manchester Combined Authority. It calculates a more realistic design stage energy performance of dwellings based on SAP 10 calculations, without requiring other software such as PHPP to be used.
The tool helps applicants and the planning authority assess the energy performance of homes in terms of:
- Space heating demand
- Total energy use
- Renewable energy generation

Using the GMCA SAP conversion tool
The user inputs data from an export produced directly from SAP for each dwelling. The tool adjusts the calculation and provides outputs for space heating demand, total energy use (including unregulated energy) and total generation.
