Bluebird Walk

HARP delivered high quality, aspirational yet affordable housing to increase the much-needed supported accommodation for their clients in Southend-on-Sea. Motivated by economic and environmental reasons, the client employed an experienced team to design the scheme to Passivhaus standard.

As Passivhaus certifiers for the scheme, we provided feedback on calculations and design assumptions throughout to ensure the project was on track to meet the Passivhaus standard. Etude certified the scheme in 2022 and it has since gone on to win numerous RIBA East awards where it has been recognised as an exemplar project of real social value, designed to the highest levels of sustainability and within the constraints of a limited budget.
