Royce Institute

The Royce Institute is a research building offering laboratory and office space. We were Environmental Sustainability Advisor on the project from RIBA Stage 1 to its completion in 2020. This included a prediction of energy use, using CIBSE TM54.

The project was selected as a case study by the University to understand the impact of designing their new buildings to Net Zero Carbon. The brief was to consider a similar building, with comparable constraints, and articulate the Net Zero aspiration into a set of tangible design and construction decisions, including their cost. This work in collaboration with the University, contractor and cost consultant involved in depth research, analysis and energy modelling.
