Evidence base for London Plan 2027
Etude, as part of a multidisciplinary consultant team, and working closely with several London Boroughs, delivered an evidence base to support the GLA in developing embodied carbon and operational energy polices for the emerging London Plan.
The work combined an assessment of existing evidence bases, industry standards with bespoke calculations to recommend a policy framework, tackling all aspects of embodied carbon and operational energy for new buildings.
A proposed set of space heating demand, EUI and upfront carbon limits were proposed based on fully costed energy and carbon calculations. These represented a range of viable specifications for different residential and non-residential buildings. This work provides the GLA with a robust evidence base to support their decision making on appropriate policies for the new London Plan.
