LBTH climate resilience action plan
We have worked closely with the London Borough of Tower Hamlets to develop a robust and evidence-led understanding of climate risk in the borough. We have combined climate hazard data, social vulnerability analysis and asset mapping to identify where flooding, overheating and other climate risks pose the greatest threat to communities, council services and infrastructure.
We created a dynamic, GIS-enabled action database that translates strategic climate risks into practical, actions across council departments. Around 90 prioritised actions are identified, covering short and long-term measures such as protecting vulnerable residents, future-proofing buildings, strengthening emergency response and embedding climate resilience into planning and asset management. Local actions have been aligned with national guidance and adaptation reporting frameworks to support the Council towards resilient services and communities in a changing climate.
