Strategy, research, analysis and policy for reducing carbon emissions
We assist local authorities and organisations to develop policy, strategies and guidance for achieving Net Zero Carbon. We focus on translating carbon pathways into a clear roadmap with actions and measurable outcomes. We analyse building performance and wider datasets. We turn complex evidence into practical insights that support better policy and decision-making.
Collaborative
We have a very open, transparent, collaborative approach and always seek to validate the brief with the client. We enjoy working with others and have brought together or participated in teams including cost consultants, specialist engineers, architects and communities.
Practical
Our work is based on detailed and thorough carbon assessments and articulates clear recommendations for actions which can be delivered. Our experience of design with individual new and existing buildings helps to inform this type of work: we know what is feasible, helping to give strength to our policy recommendations.
Ambitious
We believe robust and ambitious action is required to respond to the climate emergency. Our work reflects this and we aim to be the voice of what is possible, allowing our clients to make informed decisions.
Data-driven
We work with data at national and project scale. Our role developing the Home Energy Model (HEM), the UK Government’s new energy calculation methodology, has given us direct experience of large-scale data processing. That experience feeds into the analysis we do for clients project by project.
Insightful
We combine building performance data, energy records and other datasets to spot patterns and understand what’s driving outcomes. Our knowledge of how buildings actually work means we can read that data properly and explain what it means for a project.
Accessible
We communicate complex data and analysis in plain English, backed by clear charts and dashboards. Clients can see what the numbers mean and act on them with confidence.
